Ingredients
- 2 cans full-fat coconut milk (13.5 oz each)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
- 2 tablespoons lime zest
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons coconut rum (optional)

In a 6-quart saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves completely, about 3 minutes.
