Ingredients
- 1 loaf French or Italian bread, halved lengthwise
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment.

In a small bowl, stir together the softened butter, minced garlic, 1/2 cup of the parmesan, parsley, salt, and pepper until evenly combined.

Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread halves, reaching all the way to the edges.

Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup parmesan over the buttered bread.

Place the bread halves cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet and bake until the edges are golden and the cheese has melted, 8 to 10 minutes.
