  • 8 fresh mint leaves, plus 1 sprig for garnish
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • 2 1/2 ounces bourbon
  • 1 1/2 cups crushed ice

Method

  1. In a julep cup or rocks glass, muddle half of the sliced kiwi with the mint leaves and simple syrup until the kiwi is crushed and the mint is fragrant.

  3. Pour in the bourbon, then pack the glass with the remaining crushed ice until mounded above the rim.

  4. Stir gently with a bar spoon until the outside of the glass frosts, about 30 seconds.
