- 1/2 cups unsweetened applesauce
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cups unsalted butter, softened
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 vanilla bean, split and seeds scraped
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoons salt

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans and line the bottoms with parchment paper.

Whisk together the lentil flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg in a medium bowl.

In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar with a mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
