This vibrant juice blends sweet carrots and citrus with a spark of fresh ginger for a refreshing drink that works well as a morning pick-me-up or midday boost. Made with a juicer or blender and strainer, it comes together in minutes and tastes noticeably fresher than store-bought versions.

Ingredients

  • 4 large carrots, peeled and trimmed
  • 2 oranges, peeled
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, peeled
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • ice cubes, for serving

Method

  1. Peel and trim the carrots, peel the oranges, and peel the fresh ginger.

  2. Cut the carrots and oranges into chunks that will fit through the juicer feed tube or blender.

  3. Feed the carrots, orange segments, and ginger through a juicer, alternating ingredients for even extraction.

  4. If using a blender instead of a juicer, blend the carrots, oranges, ginger, and cold water on high until smooth, about 1 minute, then strain through a fine-mesh sieve or nut milk bag, pressing to extract as much liquid as possible.

  5. Stir the lemon juice into the extracted juice to brighten the flavor and help preserve color.

  6. Pour over ice cubes in two glasses and serve immediately for the freshest flavor.
