Puto (Steamed Rice Cake)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix rice flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  2. Gradually add coconut milk to the dry ingredients, stirring continuously until a smooth batter forms.
  3. Lightly grease the molds with oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared molds, filling each about three-quarters full.
  5. Bring water to a boil in a steamer pot. Place the molds in the steamer and cover with a lid.
  6. Steam the Puto for about 20 minutes or until they are firm and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the Puto to cool slightly before removing them from the molds.
  8. Serve warm.
