This stripped-down margarita relies on frozen limeade concentrate to replace the usual trio of lime juice, triple sec, and simple syrup. Shaken hard with ice and served in a salt-rimmed glass, it delivers the same tart, boozy balance with almost no prep. Pour it together for a quick happy-hour cocktail or scale it up for a crowd.
Ingredients
- 2 ounces tequila
- 2 ounces frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
- 1 tablespoon coarse salt, for rimming the glass (optional)
- 1 cup ice cubes
Method
-
If using a salted rim, run a lime wedge around the edge of a glass and dip the rim into coarse salt.
-
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes, then pour in the tequila and thawed limeade concentrate.
-
Cap the shaker and shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds, until the outside feels cold.
-
Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice and serve immediately.
