Cream cheese is beaten with a touch of cream and seasonings until smooth and cloud-like, creating a dip that's lighter than the straight-from-the-block version. It comes together in under ten minutes and works equally well sweet or savory depending on the mix-ins, making it a flexible starter for parties or snack boards.
Ingredients
- 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 3 tablespoons heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Method
-
Cut the softened cream cheese into cubes and place in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment.
-
Add the heavy cream and sour cream, then whip on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, scraping down the bowl once, about 3 minutes.
-
Add the chives, garlic, onion powder, salt, pepper, and lemon juice, then whip on medium speed until fully combined and airy, about 1 minute.
-
Taste and adjust seasoning as needed, then transfer to a serving bowl.
-
Cover and refrigerate at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld before serving with crackers, chips, or vegetables.
