These pigs in a blanket swap traditional pork cocktail links for lean chicken sausage, wrapped in buttery crescent dough and baked until puffed and golden. A quick brush of egg wash gives the crust a glossy sheen, while a sprinkle of everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds adds crunch. They come together fast, making them a reliable pick for game day spreads, holiday appetizer trays, or after-school snacking.
Ingredients
- 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 count)
- 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 count), second package
- 12 fully cooked chicken sausage links, halved crosswise
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning
- 1/2 cup honey mustard, for serving
Method
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
-
Unroll both packages of crescent dough on a clean work surface and separate along the perforated lines into 16 triangles.
-
Cut each triangle in half lengthwise to create 32 smaller triangles.
-
Place a chicken sausage half at the wide end of each triangle and roll toward the point, tucking the tip underneath.
-
Arrange the wrapped sausages seam-side down on the prepared baking sheets, spacing about 1 inch apart.
-
Whisk together the beaten egg and water, then brush the mixture over the tops of the dough.
-
Sprinkle the tops with sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning.
-
Bake until the dough is puffed and golden brown, 12 to 15 minutes.
-
Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then serve warm with honey mustard for dipping.
