Ingredients

  • 2 lbs lamb, bone-in, cut into pieces

  • 1 tbsp red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • salt
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine lamb pieces with yogurt, ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, cumin seeds, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well and marinate for 2 hours in the refrigerator.
  2. Heat a karahi or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated lamb to the pan. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the lamb is browned on all sides.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes and sliced green chilies to the karahi. Stir and cook until the tomatoes soften and blend into the sauce, about 5 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to low, cover the karahi, and let it simmer for 20-30 minutes, or until the lamb is tender and the flavors are well combined.
  5. Once cooked, garnish the Peshawari Karahi with chopped fresh cilantro.
  6. Serve hot with naan or rice.
