Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  3. Sear the oxtail pieces until they are browned on all sides. Remove from the pot and set aside.
  4. In the same pot, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Return the oxtail to the pot, and add red wine, beef broth, thyme, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover and transfer the pot to the preheated oven.
  7. Braise in the oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily falls off the bone.
  8. Remove from the oven and serve warm with sides like mashed potatoes or rice.
