Ingredients

  • 400 g paneer, cubed
  • 2 medium bell peppers, sliced
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 3 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 tsp ginger, grated
  • 2 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • salt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp fresh cream
  • 1 tbsp fresh coriander leaves, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a kadai or wok over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add cumin seeds; allow them to splutter for a few seconds.
  3. Add ginger and garlic; sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Incorporate onions; sauté until they turn translucent, approximately 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add bell peppers; cook until they are slightly tender, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Stir in tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt; cook until tomatoes become soft, about 5 minutes.
  7. Gently add paneer and kasuri methi; mix to coat the paneer evenly with the masala.
  8. Pour in water; cover and simmer for 5-7 minutes to meld the flavors.
  9. Stir in fresh cream; cook for an additional 2 minutes to combine.
  10. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving with naan or roti.
