Palak Paneer

Ingredients

  • 2 cups spinach leaves, washed and chopped
  • 200 grams paneer, cubed
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch piece ginger, grated
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat and add the cumin seeds. Once they start to splutter, add the onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the onions are golden brown.
  2. Stir in the tomatoes, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes until the tomatoes are soft and the spices are well combined.
  3. Add the spinach and cook for about 3 to 4 minutes until wilted. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then blend into a smooth paste.
  4. Return the paste to the pan, add the paneer cubes and garam masala, and simmer for 5 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  5. Serve the palak paneer hot with naan or rice.
