Sambal Belacan is a spicy and aromatic condiment originating from Southeast Asia. This pungent paste blends roasted shrimp paste with chili peppers, lime juice, and a mix of spices. It is a mainstay in Malaysian and Indonesian cuisine, often enhancing dishes like Nasi Lemak and Satay with its robust flavor. Sambal Belacan is versatile, serving as a dipping sauce, marinade, or flavor enhancer. Its intense and spicy profile is perfect for those who enjoy bold flavors and a touch of heat in their meals. Suitable for pescatarians, it is also dairy- and nut-free.
