Ingredients

  • 4 large onions
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut the tops off the onions and peel them. Scoop out the insides, leaving about 2 layers of onion. Finely chop the scooped-out onion.
  3. In a bowl, combine the chopped onion, ground beef, cooked rice, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until evenly combined.
  4. Stuff the hollowed-out onions with the meat mixture and place them in a baking dish. Drizzle with olive oil to coat evenly.
  5. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the onions are tender and the filling is cooked through.
  6. Remove from oven and let rest for a few minutes before serving. Optionally, garnish with fresh herbs.
