Ingredients

  • 1 lb fish fillets, cut into pieces
  • 2 cups basmati rice, soaked

  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 2 whole onions, sliced
  • 4 whole green chilies
  • 1 cup mint leaves
  • 1 cup coriander leaves
  • 1 cup fried onions
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 tsp saffron strands

Instructions

  1. Marinate the fish with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, and red chili powder for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and sauté the onions until golden brown. Add the marinated fish and cook for 5 minutes until the fish is cooked through.
  3. Layer the soaked basmati rice over the fish in the pan. Add green chilies, mint leaves, coriander leaves, and fried onions.
  4. Mix saffron strands in warm milk and drizzle evenly over the rice layer.
  5. Cover the pan tightly and cook on low heat for 20 minutes until the rice is fully cooked and the flavors are well combined. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
