Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3 cups mixed berries
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, thinly sliced
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 Tbsp cornstarch
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a food processor, combine the all-purpose flour, powdered sugar, and salt. Add the cold, cubed butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press the dough mixture evenly into a 9-inch tart pan. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is lightly golden brown.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the mixed berries, thinly sliced fresh basil, lemon juice, sugar, and cornstarch. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the berries release their juices and the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour the thickened berry filling into the pre-baked crust, spreading it evenly. Bake the filled tart for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set.
- Allow the tart to cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
