- Dissolve yeast in warm water with honey in a small bowl. Let the mixture stand until it becomes creamy, about 10 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine bread flour, whole wheat flour, ground flax seeds, and salt.
- Stir in the yeast mixture to form a stiff dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, which takes about 5-7 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise until it doubles in size, about 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 6 portions. Shape each portion into a bagel shape.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add cornmeal to it.
- Boil the bagels in the water for 1 minute per side. Remove them and place them on a baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until they turn golden brown.
