  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup raspberry jam
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and 1 1/2 cups sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in 2 teaspoons vanilla extract and sour cream.
  3. Combine 2 cups flour, baking powder, and baking soda, then mix into the creamed mixture. Spread half of the batter into the prepared pan.
  4. Evenly spread raspberry jam over the batter. In a separate bowl, beat together the cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 egg until smooth. Pour this mixture over the jam layer.
  5. Top with the remaining batter, spreading gently across the cream cheese layer. Mix together 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup flour, and slivered almonds. Sprinkle evenly over the top of the cake.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool in the pan on a wire rack before serving.
