Bibimbap is a Korean rice dish with assorted vegetables, beef, and a spicy gochujang sauce, topped with a soft egg.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 8 oz beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 cups julienned mixed vegetables (carrots, zucchini, spinach)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup kimchi
  • 1/4 cup gochujang
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, marinate the beef with soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and minced garlic for 20 minutes.
  2. Heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated beef until browned, approximately 4-5 minutes. Set aside.
  3. In the same pan, sauté the julienned mixed vegetables until tender, about 4 minutes, and set aside.
  4. Fry the eggs sunny-side-up in the same pan to your desired doneness.
  5. To assemble, place a portion of rice in each bowl, top with beef, sautéed vegetables, kimchi, and gochujang.
  6. Place a fried egg on top of each serving, then sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  7. Serve hot, and mix the ingredients together before eating to enjoy the harmony of flavors.
