Craft delicious meatball subs with air-fried meatballs, topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  3. Form the mixture into approximately 12 meatballs.
  4. Place the meatballs in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 12-15 minutes or until cooked through, shaking the basket halfway through.
  5. While the meatballs are cooking, warm the marinara sauce in a saucepan over low heat.
  6. Slice the sub rolls and place several cooked meatballs in each roll.
  7. Top with warmed marinara sauce and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  8. Optionally, place the assembled subs under a broiler for 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts and bubbles.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy your air-fried meatball subs.
