These apple cinnamon rolls are filled with sweet cinnamon-spiced apples, making them a delightful breakfast treat.

Ingredients

  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup finely chopped apples
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine 2 1/4 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat milk and melted butter to about 110°F.
  3. Add the milk mixture and eggs to the dry ingredients and stir until combined.
  4. Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Roll the dough into an 18×12 inch rectangle.
  9. Spread the softened butter over the dough.
  10. Mix the chopped apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon together and sprinkle over the buttered dough.
  11. Roll the dough tightly, starting from the long side, and cut into 12 rolls.
  12. Place rolls in a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.
  13. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  14. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  15. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
