These apple cinnamon rolls are filled with sweet cinnamon-spiced apples, making them a delightful breakfast treat.
Ingredients
- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup finely chopped apples
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine 2 1/4 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- In a small saucepan, heat milk and melted butter to about 110°F.
- Add the milk mixture and eggs to the dry ingredients and stir until combined.
- Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll the dough into an 18×12 inch rectangle.
- Spread the softened butter over the dough.
- Mix the chopped apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon together and sprinkle over the buttered dough.
- Roll the dough tightly, starting from the long side, and cut into 12 rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
