  • 1 block firm tofu, cut into cubes

  • 1 tbsp green onions, sliced, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu for about 10 minutes to remove excess water, using a tofu press or by placing it between paper towels with a weight on top.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium heat until shimmering.
  3. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking until they become fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Add the cubed tofu to the pan and brown it on all sides, turning occasionally, for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Pour soy sauce and brown sugar over the tofu, stirring gently to coat.
  6. Simmer the mixture for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and coats the tofu well.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving, adding a fresh and nutty element.
