Transform your leftover bread into a rich, comforting bread pudding perfect for dessert or brunch.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups day-old bread, cut into cubes
  • 3 cups milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Place the cubed bread in the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  5. Pour the milk mixture evenly over the bread cubes and gently press down so the bread absorbs the custard.
  6. Sprinkle the raisins over the soaked bread mixture.
  7. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and continue to bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the pudding is set and the top is golden brown.
  10. Allow the bread pudding to cool slightly before serving.
