Classic Western Omelette is a hearty breakfast option that’s simple to prepare. Filled with diced ham, green bell peppers, onions, and cheddar cheese, this omelette offers a wholesome meal to kickstart the day. Cooking the omelette slowly over low heat ensures the eggs set smoothly without browning. Serve it with toast or fresh fruit for a balanced breakfast.
Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup ham, diced
- 1/4 cup green bell pepper, diced
- 1/4 cup onion, diced
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 Tbsp butter
Instructions
- In a bowl, beat the eggs until well blended.
- In a non-stick skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the ham, green bell pepper, and onion to the skillet. Cook for about 3 to 4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- Reduce the heat to low and pour the beaten eggs over the vegetables in the skillet. Cook gently until the edges begin to set, about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Sprinkle the cheddar cheese over one half of the omelette.
- Using a spatula, fold the other half of the omelette over the cheese. Cook for another minute until the cheese is melted.
- Carefully slide the omelette onto a plate and serve.
