- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter

- 2 cups milk

- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour, cooking and stirring constantly until the mixture is smooth and bubbly.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, and continue cooking and stirring until the sauce thickens and starts to bubble.
- Add the cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, salt, and pepper to the sauce and stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce, mixing well to ensure all pasta is coated.
- Transfer the macaroni and cheese mixture to a 9-inch by 13-inch baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with olive oil. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the mac and cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
