Ingredients

  • 4 portobello mushrooms, cleaned and stems removed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Brush the portobello mushrooms with olive oil and season with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. Place the mushrooms on the grill gill side down and cook for 4-5 minutes until they develop grill marks.
  4. Flip the mushrooms and continue to grill for an additional 4-5 minutes until tender.
  5. While the mushrooms are grilling, in a saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar and honey. Cook over medium heat until the mixture is reduced by half and becomes syrupy, about 5 minutes.
  6. Remove mushrooms from the grill and drizzle with the balsamic reduction.
  7. Sprinkle freshly chopped basil over the top and serve immediately.
