These rich and fluffy Parker House rolls are glazed with a sweet honey-butter mixture, enhancing their buttery goodness.
Ingredients
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, for glazing
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add milk, melted butter, sugar, and salt to the yeast mixture and stir to combine.
- Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, mixing after each addition until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball.
- Arrange the dough balls in a greased 9" skillet, leaving some space between each piece.
- Cover the skillet and let the rolls rise again for about 30 minutes, until they are puffy.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While the rolls are baking, melt the remaining butter and mix with honey.
- Remove rolls from the oven and immediately brush with the honey-butter glaze.
