Instructions
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, rice wine, and sugar. Mix well until sugar is dissolved.
- Heat 2 Tbsp of sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ginger and garlic, and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- Add chicken pieces to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned on all sides.
- Pour in the sauce mixture. Bring it to a simmer, then cover and cook for 15-20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
- Uncover the skillet and increase the heat slightly to thicken the sauce, stirring occasionally. This should take about 5 minutes.
- Add fresh basil leaves and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 1 minute until basil is wilted.
- Serve the chicken hot over steamed rice.
