Ingredients
- 1 pound chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice wine
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
- 1 cup potato starch
- 1 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- oil for frying
Instructions
- Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces.
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, rice wine, sesame oil, minced garlic, and five-spice powder. Add chicken and marinate for 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix potato starch, white pepper, and salt.
- Drain excess marinade. Coat each chicken piece in the starch mixture, pressing firmly.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry chicken pieces in batches for 5-6 minutes or until golden and crispy.
- Remove and drain on paper towels. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
