Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 1 tablespoon capers, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons pickle relish
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, soak shrimp in buttermilk for 10 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Remove shrimp from buttermilk, then coat in the flour mixture.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and dip each floured shrimp into the eggs.
  6. Place shrimp in the air fryer basket in a single layer and air-fry for 6-8 minutes, turning halfway.
  7. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, mustard, capers, Dijon mustard, and pickle relish to make the remoulade sauce.
  8. Spread remoulade sauce inside each hoagie roll.
  9. Layer each roll with shredded lettuce, tomato slices, and air-fried shrimp.
