Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef, 80% lean
  • 4 brioche buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  2. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into loosely packed balls.
  3. Place each beef ball on the hot skillet and use a spatula to press them flat into patties. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cook the patties for 2-3 minutes on each side until they develop a crust and are cooked to desired doneness.
  5. During the last minute of cooking the patties, top each with a slice of cheddar cheese and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
  6. In another skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and fry the eggs to your preference (sunny-side up or over easy).
  7. Toast the brioche buns in the same skillet until golden brown.
  8. Assemble the burgers by placing a cheeseburger patty on the bottom bun, followed by bacon slices, a fried egg, and the top bun.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy your Bacon Egg and Cheese Smashburger.
