Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup elderflower syrup
  • 2 cups sparkling water
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • ice cubes, to taste

Instructions

  2. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let it steep for 15 minutes.
  3. Strain the hibiscus mixture to remove the flowers and return the liquid to the saucepan.
  4. Add the sugar and elderflower syrup to the hibiscus liquid, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.
  5. Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to chill.
  6. To assemble the spritz, fill each glass with ice cubes and a few slices of lemon.
  7. Pour 1/2 cup of the hibiscus-elderflower mixture into each glass.
  8. Top each glass with 1/2 cup of sparkling water. Stir gently to combine.
  9. Garnish with fresh mint leaves before serving.
