Ingredients

  • 2 cups chickpeas, cooked, drained, and rinsed

  • 1 Tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 Tbsp ground coriander
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds, for coating
  • oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, pulse the chickpeas, parsley, cilantro, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, cayenne pepper, flour, and baking powder until well combined. Adjust salt if needed.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  3. Shape the mixture into small balls and coat them with sesame seeds evenly.
  4. In a skillet, heat enough oil over medium heat to submerge half of a falafel ball. Fry the falafel balls until golden brown and crispy, about 3 to 4 minutes per side.
  5. Serve the falafel hot with tahini sauce, hummus, and fresh vegetables.
