Ingredients

  • 2 cups glutinous rice flour

  • 6 cups water

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of glutinous rice flour with 1/2 cup of water to form a smooth dough.
  2. Divide the dough into small, equal-sized balls and flatten each one into a disc.
  3. Place about a teaspoon of sesame paste, red bean paste, or crushed peanuts in the center of each disc.
  4. Carefully fold the edges of the dough over the filling and roll into smooth balls.
  5. In a large pot, bring 6 cups of water to a boil and dissolve 1/4 cup of sugar in it to make a sweet syrup.
  6. Gently drop the rice balls into the boiling syrup. Stir them occasionally to prevent sticking.
  7. Cook until the rice balls float to the surface, indicating they are done, approximately 3 to 4 minutes.
  8. Serve the glutinous rice balls hot in the sweet syrup.
