Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the halved strawberries on a baking sheet and drizzle with balsamic vinegar and 1/4 cup of sugar. Toss to coat.
- Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the strawberries are soft and syrupy. Stir occasionally.
- Remove from oven and let the strawberries cool completely, then mash them lightly with a fork.
