- 1 cup brown rice, rinsed
- 1 cup brown lentils, rinsed
- 4 cups water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil

- 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions
- In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until it becomes translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic, cumin seeds, ground coriander, ground turmeric, and chili powder, cooking for another 2 minutes until fragrant.
