Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 cups pecans, chopped
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a food processor, combine the all-purpose flour, cold cubed butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Firmly press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking pan and bake for 15-20 minutes until the crust is lightly golden.
  4. Meanwhile, in a saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, 2 tablespoons of butter, and heavy cream. Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring constantly to avoid burning.
  5. Once the mixture is smooth and well combined, remove it from the heat and stir in the chopped pecans and vanilla extract until evenly distributed.
  6. Pour the pecan mixture evenly over the baked crust in the pan.
