Sardine Balls, or Kefta bil Sardine, offer a delightful combination of sardines enriched with aromatic herbs and spices. This savory dish is excellent for a quick meal or an appetizer for gatherings. It involves blending canned sardines with breadcrumbs, parsley, garlic, and a mixture of Moroccan spices, shaping them into balls, and frying them until golden brown. Paired with a tangy yogurt sauce, these Sardine Balls are flavorful and satisfying.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans sardines, drained and mashed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 bunch parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

  2. Shape the mixture into small balls, approximately 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  3. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  4. Carefully place the sardine balls in the skillet and fry them, turning occasionally with a spatula, until they are golden brown on all sides, about 3 to 4 minutes per side.
