Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully remove the core from the cabbage head, then add it to the boiling water. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the leaves are soft and pliable. Remove from water and let cool.
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, cooked rice, onion, garlic, paprika, and thyme. Mix well until evenly combined.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Carefully peel off the cabbage leaves and trim the thick center vein from each leaf. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture onto each leaf and roll up, securely tucking in the sides.
  5. Arrange the cabbage rolls seam side down in a baking dish. Pour the tomato sauce evenly over the rolls.
  6. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the meat is cooked through.
