Ingredients

  • 1 pound white fish fillet, diced
  • 1/2 cup lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 cup orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and chopped
  • 2 avocados, diced
  • 1/4 cup cilantro leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the diced fish in a glass or ceramic bowl.
  2. Pour the lime and orange juices over the fish, ensuring it is completely submerged.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for 1.5 to 2 hours to allow the fish to 'cook' in the citrus juices.
  4. Once the fish is opaque, drain excess juice, retaining about 1/4 cup in the bowl.
