Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons pesto
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1 red onion, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, chopped sun-dried tomatoes, chopped basil, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties.
  4. Cook the patties on the preheated grill or skillet for 5-6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. While the burgers cook, mix mayonnaise and pesto in a small bowl to make the pesto mayo.
  6. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.
  7. Assemble the burgers by spreading pesto mayo on each side of the bun, placing the turkey patties on the bottom buns, and topping with sliced tomato and red onion.
  8. Serve immediately.
