Ingredients
- 1 cup short-grain rice
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup bean sprouts
- 1 cup carrots, julienned
- 1 cup spinach leaves
- 4 eggs
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted
- 1 cucumber, sliced
- 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
Instructions
- Cook the short-grain rice according to package instructions and set aside.
- In a pan over medium heat, cook the ground beef with soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and minced garlic until the beef is browned and cooked through.
- Blanch the bean sprouts and spinach leaves in boiling water for about 1-2 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté the julienned carrots for about 3 minutes until they are tender but still crisp.
- Fry the eggs sunny side up in another pan and season with a pinch of salt.
- Assemble the bibimbap by placing a portion of rice in each serving bowl.
- Arrange the cooked beef, bean sprouts, carrots, spinach leaves, and sliced cucumber around the rice.
- Top with a fried egg in the center.
- Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the top, and serve with a dollop of gochujang.
