Experience a medley of vibrant vegetables and seasoned beef in this delightful bibimbap topped with sesame seeds.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup short-grain rice
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup bean sprouts
  • 1 cup carrots, julienned
  • 1 cup spinach leaves
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)

Instructions

  1. Cook the short-grain rice according to package instructions and set aside.
  2. In a pan over medium heat, cook the ground beef with soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and minced garlic until the beef is browned and cooked through.
  3. Blanch the bean sprouts and spinach leaves in boiling water for about 1-2 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, sauté the julienned carrots for about 3 minutes until they are tender but still crisp.
  5. Fry the eggs sunny side up in another pan and season with a pinch of salt.
  6. Assemble the bibimbap by placing a portion of rice in each serving bowl.
  7. Arrange the cooked beef, bean sprouts, carrots, spinach leaves, and sliced cucumber around the rice.
  8. Top with a fried egg in the center.
  9. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the top, and serve with a dollop of gochujang.
