Deviled Eggs

Deviled Eggs are a delightful appetizer suitable for a variety of gatherings such as picnics and celebrations, or even as a savory snack. Hard-boiled eggs are halved, and yolks are blended with mayonnaise, mustard, and a selection of spices, then neatly returned to the egg whites. A touch of paprika or chives enhances the visual appeal and flavor of these creamy, delightful treats.

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs, hard-boiled
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp mustard
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1 Tbsp chives, chopped

Instructions

  1. Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with enough water so they are completely submerged. Bring water to a rolling boil over high heat, then remove saucepan from heat, cover, and let stand for 12 minutes. Drain eggs and immediately cool them under cold running water to stop the cooking process.
  2. Carefully peel the eggs and slice them in half lengthwise. Gently remove the yolks and place them in a separate mixing bowl. Using a fork, mash the yolks with mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Transfer the yolk mixture into a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle. Pipe the mixture evenly back into the egg white halves. Lightly sprinkle paprika and chives over the filled egg whites to garnish. Serve the deviled eggs chilled or at room temperature.
