Ingredients

  • 2 15 oz cans chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/3 cup tahini
  • 3 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin

Instructions

  1. If using dried chickpeas, soak them overnight, then drain and rinse. Otherwise, skip this step.
  2. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, and ground cumin. Blend until the mixture is smooth.
  3. While the processor is running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until the hummus becomes creamy.
  4. Taste the hummus and adjust the seasonings if needed.
  5. Transfer the hummus to a serving dish. Drizzle a little extra olive oil on top and sprinkle with ground paprika for garnish.
  6. Serve the hummus with pita bread or assorted fresh vegetables for dipping.
