Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup vermicelli
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 cup cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/4 cup assorted nuts, chopped (like pistachios, almonds)

Instructions

  1. In a pan, dry roast the vermicelli over medium heat until golden brown. Set aside.
  2. In a separate pot, heat the milk and cream over medium-high heat until it comes to a boil, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
  3. Reduce the heat to low, add the sugar and roasted vermicelli to the milk mixture, and cook for 5 to 7 minutes until the vermicelli is soft, stirring continuously.
  4. Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours until chilled.
  5. Before serving, gently fold in the chopped fruits and nuts.
