Ingredients

  • 1 cup short-grain rice
  • 1 lb beef, thinly sliced
  • 4 cups assorted vegetables, cut into strips (carrots, spinach, mushrooms, bean sprouts, zucchini)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup gochujang sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Instructions

  1. Cook the rice according to the package instructions. Once cooked, set it aside and keep warm.
  2. In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with soy sauce, sesame oil, and sugar. Allow it to marinate for at least 15 minutes. Cook the marinated beef in a hot skillet over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Prepare the vegetables by either blanching them quickly in boiling water or stir-frying them separately in a little sesame oil until tender-crisp. Arrange each type on a platter and set aside.
  4. Heat a small amount of oil in a non-stick pan over medium-low heat. Fry the eggs sunny-side-up or to your liking. Keep warm.
  5. To assemble the bibimbap, place a portion of warm rice at the bottom of each bowl. Neatly arrange a portion of each vegetable, beef, and a fried egg on top of the rice. Drizzle with gochujang sauce.
  6. Before eating, mix all the components in the bowl to enjoy the blend of flavors and textures.
