Crispy baked pita chips meet creamy garlic herb hummus for a snack that's both crunchy and smooth.

Ingredients

  • 4 pita breads, cut into wedges
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • to taste salt, for hummus

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Arrange the pita wedges on a baking sheet.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over the pita wedges and season with sea salt and black pepper.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden and crispy. Let cool.
  5. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, minced garlic, and water.
  6. Blend until smooth, adding more water if necessary to reach desired consistency.
  7. Stir in chopped parsley, ground cumin, and salt to taste.
  8. Serve the hummus in a bowl alongside the pita chips.
