Enjoy this tender and juicy Asian-inspired BBQ chuck roast with a sticky glaze, perfect for a flavorful dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 pounds chuck roast
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 4 green onions, sliced for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, minced ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Place the chuck roast in a 9×13-inch baking dish and pour the sauce over the meat, ensuring it is well coated. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 5 hours, until the chuck roast is tender and the internal temperature reaches at least 145°F (63°C).
- Remove the foil during the last 30 minutes of cooking to allow the glaze to thicken and become sticky.
- Let the roast rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and serve the roast with the thickened glaze drizzled on top.
