Enjoy this tender and juicy Asian-inspired BBQ chuck roast with a sticky glaze, perfect for a flavorful dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 pounds chuck roast
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 4 green onions, sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, minced ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Place the chuck roast in a 9×13-inch baking dish and pour the sauce over the meat, ensuring it is well coated. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 5 hours, until the chuck roast is tender and the internal temperature reaches at least 145°F (63°C).
  5. Remove the foil during the last 30 minutes of cooking to allow the glaze to thicken and become sticky.
  6. Let the roast rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve the roast with the thickened glaze drizzled on top.
