Packed with energy, these hazelnut espresso protein bars combine the nutty richness of hazelnuts with a caffeine kick.
Ingredients
- 1 cup hazelnuts
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup espresso powder
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/4 cup protein powder, vanilla-flavored
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and spread the hazelnuts on a baking sheet.
- Toast hazelnuts for 8-10 minutes until lightly browned and fragrant. Allow to cool, then chop finely.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped hazelnuts, rolled oats, espresso powder, honey, protein powder, dark chocolate chips, and sea salt.
- Mix until ingredients are well combined and the mixture is evenly blended.
- Line an 8" x 8" baking pan with parchment paper and press the mixture firmly into the pan, spreading evenly.
- Refrigerate the pan for at least 1 hour to set the bars.
- Once set, remove from the pan and cut into 8 bars.
